Training and Employment Recognition Council annual report [2003-04 - 2011-12]

The Training and Employment Recognition Council (TERC), formerly the Training Recognition Council (TRC), was established under the Vocational Education Training and Employment Act 2000 (s167). It was responsible for administering and regulating training organisations, course accreditation, training contracts for apprenticeships and traineeships and vocational placements in Queensland.

The Council was abolished by the Vocational Education and Training (Commonwealth Powers) Act 2012 and its functions in relation to the registration and regulation of training organisations, the accreditation of courses and the issuance of qualifications were transferred to the national VET Regulator. Skills Queensland took over the Council's remaining powers and functions including those in relation to apprenticeships and traineeships, group training and principal employer organisations, skills recognition and employment exemptions.
