Job creation report

This report provides information from the Integrated Business Establishment Survey (IBES) on the number of jobs created in Ghana in 2014 within non-household establishments across the three main sectors of the economy (agriculture, industry and services). Job losses and stagnant employment remain pressing challenges in nearly every community across the country. Across the regions, policy-makers are grappling with the critical question of how to create jobs for the growing number of people in the labour market. In 2014, a total of 207,492 jobs were created. Nearly nine out of every 10 new jobs created took place in the services sector. A total of 24,095 new jobs were recorded in the industrial sector and 1,756 new jobs in the agricultural sector.
