The Local Government Sector Education and Training Authority (LGSETA) was established in 2000 to facilitate skills development at municipal level across South Africa. Since then the LGSETA has enabled training for thousands of employees of local government, traditional leaders, ward councillors, and unemployed persons to acquire skills through various intervention programmes.
