This brief provides an overview of selected online and digital tools to support career guidance for young people and adults. This inventory showcases tools aimed at supporting career development processes of young people and adults, and complements the ILO Policy guidance note on digitalising career guidance services [available in VOCEDplus at TD/TNC 148.547]. This synthesis contains 25 exemplary online and digital websites, tools and platforms, from all global regions, and provides brief insight onto publics and needs addressed, their functionalities, accessibility and integration into career guidance processes.

This document describes the entry-level competency requirements for pharmacy technicians across practice settings. The competency standards aim at producing and maintaining a pharmacy technician workforce that is able to manage day-to-day operations of pharmacy in a manner that will ensure optimal patient care and public safety, under the supervision of registered pharmacists. The competency standards were developed with the following key objectives: To provide guidance to local polytechnics/Pharmaceutical Society of Singapore (PSS) on the development of educational outcomes and curriculum design for the Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science/Certified Pharmacy Technicians Course (CPTC) to develop the work-readiness of graduates; To provide guidance to SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) and its approved training organisations on the development of educational outcomes; To serve as benchmark standards to public healthcare institutions for developing in-house on-the-job training programmes and competency assessment for existing and newly-recruited pharmacy technicians at entry level.

The current emerging contexts in the Asia-Pacific region entail substantial needs to promote the new sets of skills and competencies required for lifelong learning in the 21st century. This sequential guide, as part of the Community-based lifelong learning and adult education publication, was developed and synthesized based on the comprehensive education sector review and relevant researches to consolidate the essential knowledge, skills and values for adults and learners of community learning centres (CLCs) in the region. The booklet provides competency definitions, existing frameworks and practices, proposed competency framework in Asia-Pacific contexts, and the applicability of the framework at the country level. The contents were enriched by technical inputs and recommendations of national experts from 11 Asian countries; namely, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, the Philippines, the Republic of Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Viet Nam, plus Australia. It is anticipated that the proposed Asia-Pacific competency framework in this guide will provide valuable recommendations for policy-makers and CLC managers in developing the related frameworks and delivery mechanisms in their respective countries in order to emphasise the critical skills and competencies for adult learners in both non-formal and informal settings.

Technical and vocational education and training (TVET) teacher training and the quality of TVET teachers' work are linked to relevant economic sectors. The availability of qualified personnel is highly dependent on a TVET system that takes into account the innovations, developments and qualification requirements of these sectors. For economic sectors as well as for employment, classification systems are normally used to structure and mark the main focus, strength and weakness of relevant areas. For employment systems, a corresponding qualification system with occupational standards and possibilities for education and career pathways are necessary components for future-oriented developments. Vocational disciplines help to align TVET with the relevant economic and employment sectors.
The definition of Regional TVET Teacher Standard for ASEAN (RTTS) based on vocational disciplines which are relevant to ASEAN Member States (AMS) describes a quality standard for TVET teachers. The guidelines help to reflect and understand the meaning of vocational disciplines for TVET teacher's competence profiles, for TVET teacher training, for the shaping of study programmes and for the orientation of TVET systems on economically relevant sectors. The second version of the RTTS in 2019 focusses on vocational disciplines as a bridge between relevant vocational sciences and pedagogical fields of actions for TVET teachers. It also achieves an actualization of the standards through a closer link to the changes in the world of work. At the same time, these instruments are adjusted to the internationally approved orientations.
