The aim of this study is to provide a strategic overview of the paper, print and packaging industry in Ireland. It examines the activities undertaken by the sector and the issues it is currently facing. The study examines the importance of developing a comprehensive strategy as a means of achieving competitiveness and continued growth. The study also identifies and prioritises the key factors in respect of the provision of a sufficient level of skills for the future development of the industry. Recommendations are made which are designed to redress weaknesses that were identified during the course of the study. These weaknesses are addressed under the four key headings of marketing, human resources, efficiency and attitude.
