Critical re-imagining: adult literacy and numeracy practices for sustainable development

The 2019 Australian Council for Adult Literacy (ACAL) conference was held in Sydney from 3-5 October and included a pre-conference workshop. The theme for the conference, aligns with Goal 4 of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. Keynote speakers at the conference were: Roslyn Appleby, University of Technology Sydney; Anke Grotlueschen, Hamburg University; Ralf St Clair, University of Victoria, Canada; and Amy Thomas, University of Technology, Sydney.
