Visual arts: a strategic tool for youth unemployment reduction and economic development
This paper presents visual arts as a strategic tool for youth unemployment reduction and economic development in Nigeria. It also highlights the importance of visual arts as a poverty reduction tool if properly applied and harnessed due to its creative and skill related nature. The paper also notes that graduates of visual art can earn livelihoods from art, be employers of labour, and art studios can be developed beyond subsistence level of production to larger ones thereby reducing unemployment in a country like Nigeria.
