These guidelines provide information on the policies and processes involved in competency based assessment for practitioners and other stakeholders in the vocational education and training sector. It consists of six sections: (1) a summary of the key policy requirements; (2) an introduction to competency based assessment for industry and individuals; (3) a guide to competency based assessment process for employers; (4) a series of materials for adaptation and use by assessors; (5) a list of resources for assessors; and (6) a list of acronyms used and a glossary of terms.
