The Investors in People Standard, developed in the early 1990s, is the national quality standard for effective investment in training and development for all people. It aims to improve the effectiveness and performance of UK business by encouraging employers to develop the skills of their employees to achieve business goals. Investors in People UK was formed in 1991 to protect the integrity of the standard.
