Australian Qualifications Framework implementation handbook

This is the second edition of a handbook designed to provide a comprehensive guide for the implementation of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), a new national system of qualifications issued by schools, TAFEs, universities and approved private education and training providers. It has been produced to take into account the introduction of Training Packages in the vocational education and training (VET) sector.

The handbook consists of six main sections: (1) an overview of the AQF with a description of its key features; (2) guidelines to the requirements of each qualification; (3) advice as to how to convert an existing qualification to a qualification under the AQF; (4) set of principles to assist the establishment of connections between qualifications; (5) advice on issuing qualifications; and (6) details regarding the Australian Qualifications Framework Advisory Board, established to monitor the implementation of AQF. In addition, it contains an Australian National Training Authority (ANTA) supplement on Training Packages, a list of VET reference documents, and national accreditation principles for the VET sector.
