This annual publication reports on the internal operations of the Australian National Training Authority (ANTA) which are structured around the annual ANTA plan and work priorities. It also includes information on ANTA's stakeholders, corporate governance, organisational structure, and major activities. ANTA's current outputs are: (1) Designing a suitable vocational education and training (VET) future; (2) Working with industry; (3) Guarding the quality of the national system; and (4) Acting as a broker for knowledge and monitoring, planning and performance. Achievements are reported against these four outputs.

This annual publication reports on the Australian National Training Authority's (ANTA's) internal operations and provides an account of activities against the annual ANTA Plan and work priorities. It also includes information on system stakeholders, corporate governance, the organisational structure and major activities. During 2002-2003, ANTA reviewed and restated its outputs in light of the roles stipulated in the ANTA Act and the goals of the new strategy. The five outputs are: (1) Designing a sustainable vocational education and training future; (2) Working with industry; (3) Guarding the quality of the national system; (4) Acting as a broker for knowledge and monitoring, planning and performance; (5) Managing our business.

This is the last annual report of the Australian National Training Authority (ANTA): in October 2004, the Prime Minister announced that ANTA was to be abolished as from 30 June 2005 and its functions transferred to the Australian Government Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST).
