The aims of sustainable economic growth and the cultivation of a green economy are important drivers for changes in work, employment and skills. As industries transition to more sustainable and environmentally friendly operations, their staff need new skills. New green industries are also developing that similarly require staff with new and different skills and knowledge. Tertiary education and work based learning programmes are increasingly being relied upon to help people learn the required new skills. Research published about green skills and green jobs seeks to explain what industry needs, how training can help get workers ready, and what the future may hold.
