Capacity building is the process of building the capabilities of individuals, groups or regions to prepare for and respond to workforce needs. It sits under the broad subject of workforce development and is also related to skill development and workforce planning. Research in this area could focus on capacity building activities for specific purposes or groups (e.g. employees, management, industry, sectoral or regional), how it’s implemented and its outcomes.
