Report on Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority vocational education and training regulatory activities: July 2012-June 2013

Under the Charter of the National Skills Standards Council (NSSC), the regulators of vocational education and training (VET) are required to report to the NSSC for two distinct but interrelated purposes: (1) informing the advice the NSSC provides to the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) Standing Council on Tertiary Education Skills and Employment (SCOTESE) on the operation of the regulators of VET, with a particular view to ensuring consistency and quality of the implementation of the national standards for the regulation of VET; [and] (2) to provide intelligence to the NSSC regarding the application of the national standards for the regulation of VET, informing the priorities and work of the NSSC. This is the third report to the NSSC on the Victorian Registration Qualifications Authority (VRQA) VET regulatory operations and covers the period 1 July 2012 to 30 June 2013. It is based on current NSSC VET regulator reporting arrangements, and incorporates the information and data requested by the NSSC where this is collected and/or the activity is undertaken by the VRQA.
