Abstract:

The OECD Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) is a survey of students' skills and knowledge as they approach the end of compulsory schooling to see how well students are prepared for life beyond school. It was launched in 1997 and runs every three years. The focus of the 2003 assessment was mathematics and problem-solving.
