Abstract:

This annual publication provides a summary of training activity in apprenticeships and traineeships in Australia, from the period 2000 to 2010. It includes information on training rates, attrition rates, completion rates and duration of training. Highlights for 2010 include: 3.8 per cent of Australian workers were employed as an apprentice or trainee as at December 2010, compared with 3.1 per cent in 2000; within the trades, 12.1 per cent of workers were employed as an apprentice or trainee as at December 2010, compared with 9.5 per cent in 2000; overall commencements increased from 2009...  [+] Show more
