Equality group inequalities in education, employment and earnings: research review and analysis of trends over time
This report provides a first-ever analysis of the relationships between education, employment, income and social class to identify trends in group-based inequalities relating to gender, ethnicity, disability and sexual orientation. In addition to a review of existing research, it draws on a range of national data sources over a period of several years. It finds that, although education protects minority ethnic groups, women and disabled people against disadvantage in employment and income, they do not enjoy the full returns to education that might be expected.
