Trends in the development of training and the role of innovation as a transferable practice

The Training of Trainers Network (TTnet) was established by CEDEFOP in 1998 as a community forum for communication, cooperation and expertise in the field of training for teachers and trainers of vocational training. This dossier reports on the forum for the development of training professions and the role of innovation as a transferable practice. Three main issues are discussed: (1) the consequences of changes in training systems for the profiles of trainers; (2) ways to predict the changes that are going to affect training occupations; and (3) ways to organise the transfer of innovations to facilitate greater knowledge and collective progress within the community of vocational teachers and trainers. The dossier explores these issues by considering the situation in Portugal and France.
