Teaching and training in post-compulsory education

This is a textbook primarily for use in the Certificate in Education in post-compulsory education (PCE), but would also be useful for other post-compulsory training courses such as the City & Guilds Further and Adult Education Teachers' Certificate, teachers in schools and trainers in industry and commerce. This publication focuses on the learning processes that teachers will employ, as well as on key areas of concern to them such as learning, teaching, resources, assessment and course planning. There is also consideration of the growth of vocationalism in education and a chronology of post-compulsory education. Each chapter is sub-divided into self-contained sections concentrating on key educational issues, with frequent practical exercises which focus on the context the teacher works in. These exercises are supported by theory, reading, analysis, information and discussion.
