Tasmanian Learning and Skills Authority annual report [2005, 2006]

The Tasmanian Learning and Skills Authority was established under Section 6(1) of the Vocational Education and Training Act 1994 and commenced operations on 1 January 2005. It replaced the Tasmanian State Training Authority (TASTA) and assumed new functions and powers to reflect its broader responsibilities under a post-year 10 education and training banner. The authority is responsible for providing advice to the minister on the development and implementation of policies, plans and programs and on fostering intersectorial links between the four areas of post-compulsory education and training: (1) adult and community education; (2) higher education; (3) senior secondary education; and (4) vocational education and training. These annual reports provide a comprehensive overview of the work of the Tasmanian Learning and Skills Authority for each year of publication.
