The 12th annual New Zealand Vocational Education and Training Research Forum (21-22 October, 2015), attracted over 160 attendees from across education, government and industry/stakeholder groups. The 12th annual New Zealand Vocational Education and Training Research Forum (21-22 October, 2015), attracted over 160 attendees from across education, government and industry/stakeholder groups. The forum is dedicated specifically to research on career-, work-, and skills-oriented education and training. The programme for this year's forum included a wide range of presentations and panels, including sessions exploring outcomes and success factors for vocational education and training (VET), the use of new technologies, identities, literacy and numeracy, and 'core' skills. Keynote addresses were given by two international speakers: Borhene Chakroun from the Youth, Literacy, and Skills Development Section of UNESCO and Michael Davis from the UK Commission for Employment and Skills (UKCES).
