Knowledge tree: an e-journal of learning innovation, edition 15, October 2007

This online journal features best practice, research and latest trends in flexible learning in the vocational education and training (VET) sector in Australia. In this edition, contributions examine how educators, businesses and learners have transformed the learning exchange, using social or 'participatory' media. Articles included in this issue are: 'How did a couple of veteran classroom teachers end up in a space like this?: extraordinary intersections between learning, social software and teaching' by Barbara Ganley and Barbara Sawhill discusses how an emergent learner-centric, community-focused teaching and learning model provides a boundary-less series of places where the teacher and the learner, the class and the community outside of the classroom, create and transform knowledge together; and 'SurReal quests: enriched purposeful language learning in Second Life' by Howard Vickers.
