Skills Tasmania: exploration project on reporting language literacy and numeracy outcomes using finer gradations of the Australian Core Skills Framework, ACSF

[This] project examined current use of the [Australian Core Skills Framework] ACSF in literacy and numeracy programs in Tasmania, in particular the Employer Pledge Program (now known as the 26TEN Grants Program - Employer Stream). The core of the project was to explore options and make recommendations on how to report progress at finer gradations of the ACSF rather than measuring by whole levels alone. The report concluded that there was enough evidence and support to consider reporting progress at finer gradations within an ACSF level rather than just between levels. The report recommends that Skills Tasmania discusses the options outlined in table one on page 15 with a range of experienced and relevant personnel and consider trialling some or all of the options. Extending the focus of the trial beyond Tasmania to the national arena is also recommended.
