Auditor training program and offshore audit checklist: final report

Of key importance to all registered training organisations (RTOs) is the quality of the education and training provided to their students. One way of ascertaining whether what’s being delivered is as required, as expected or to standard is to review or assess processes and outcomes against standards or benchmarks, be they internal or external. Use of the audit process is one way of achieving this. This project was developed to assist [vocational education and training] VET providers in improving their relevant quality assurance processes for offshore delivery through the adequate training of internal auditors. The project encompassed the design and development of a quality auditor training program that captures the requirements of both the international standard: Quality management systems - Requirements (AS/NZS ISO 9001:2001) and the Australian Quality Training Framework Standards for Registered Training Organisations (AQTF). The audit guidelines and checklist presented in this report attempt to put a focus on identifying and measuring outcomes at all levels within the organisation.
