Globalisation has spurred several attempts to reform higher education in Latin America. Despite these efforts, the region remains peripheral to international centres of research and knowledge dissemination. This publication aims to help address this situation. Based on studies of higher education in seven countries (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, and Peru), the publication identifies opportunities for raising Latin America's profile on the global stage.
