5th Forum: women students in TAFE

Representatives of Institutes, Training Divisions and Women's Strategy Officers attended this forum, held in Sydney on 27 March, 1996. The forum provided information and skill formation in four main areas: flexible delivery, recognition, gender and culturally inclusive teaching, and the Australian Vocational Training System (AVTS).

This document is a summary of the papers presented at the forum. They include:

The human resources strategy at Northparkes Mines with particular emphasis on employment of women;

A description of AVTS in terms of pilot programs that have been completed;

Flexible delivery;

Gender inclusive teaching strategies and the diversity of experience brought to the classroom by women from non English speaking backgrounds.
