Reforming Australia: new policies for a new generation

This publication is based on the Economic and Social Outlook Conference, ‘Pursuing opportunity and prosperity’, held in Melbourne in November 2003. The conference was organised by the Melbourne Institute of Applied Economic and Social Research at the University of Melbourne and ‘The Australian’ (newspaper). The publication distils the discussion around the theme of the future policy agenda in the context of an ageing population. It aims to inform this election-year debate and to propose a medium to long-term policy framework for the newly elected government.
