Commissioned by Racing Training South Australia, this guide aims to help both employees and employers to understand how to improve the health and safety of people working in stables. It discusses: occupational health and safety laws (roles and responsibilities, and Workcover); workplace hazards and emergency plans (including dealing with accidents and manual handling); and stable hazards and control strategies (handling and riding horses, infections, chemicals, machinery, and electricity).
