Adult education and African development in the context of globalization
This article discusses the relationship between adult education and African development within the context of globalisation. The paper provides a definition of adult education, development and globalisation. It discusses key development challenges in Africa including the high instances of poverty, illiteracy, poor health conditions, conflicts and the spread of HIV/AIDS and looks at the role of adult education and development in promoting economic growth, reducing poverty and consolidating democracy.
