Many unemployed people are trapped by unemployment. Unemployment always seems to strike those most ill-prepared to face it and those who have the lowest qualifications. Illiteracy is rife amongst unemployed people, who are suffering from increased marginalisation because they do not know how to get themselves out of the downward spiral.
