Malaysia: skills for global competitiveness
Traditionally, training in Malaysia has been provided by the State. However, since the late 1980s and 1990s, the government has adopted a policy of involving enterprise in training and has moved from being a training provider to becoming a training facilitator. This reflects the government's recognition of the need for enterprise input into training as Malaysia prepares to attain 'developed nation' status by 2020.
