Separate tables: academic and vocational education reforms in traditional, comprehensive high schools

This National Centre for Research in Vocational Education [NCRVE] supported study uses the case studies of Oakfield and Edgewater to explore the reforms in both schools. The single case studies examine each school’s reform efforts, including a chronology of the change as well as significant events that influenced the course of change. Conclusions were drawn about the vocational education reforms within the context of the traditional comprehensive high school and the interactions and/or relationships between the school restructuring reforms and the vocational education initiatives in each school. Then a second cross case analysis was made to identify themes that emerged from the data about factors that affected the course and outcomes of the two reform initiatives and finally the implications are drawn for policymakers.
