As a matter of fact: answering the myths and misconceptions about Indigenous Australians

This publication is intended by the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission (ATSIC) to fill a need for factual information and dispel some of the more common misconceptions about the experiences of Indigenous people over the last 200 years, and about their current situation. There are six main section headings: history; funding; ATSIC; specific programs; land; social attitudes. Each section takes as its starting point one of these common misconceptions, presenting facts and figures and an interpretation of the Indigenous perspective to counter the misconceptions.
