Mutual recognition of qualifications in Australia and New Zealand
This paper explores the possibilities of applying the principles of mutual recognition which have recently been developed for Australia. This paper provides: initial definitions of mutual recognition and discussion of how mutual recognition differs from reciprocal recognition; an exploration of how the concept of mutual recognition has been interpreted and applied in Europe; an explanation of the Australian arrangements; and some conjecture concerning how the Australian arrangements may be expanded to encompass New Zealand.
