Guide for students with a disability

This guide is designed to assist students with a disability who are currently undertaking or considering undertaking a vocational education and training course. The guide contains useful information about disability and the law, selection, enrolment, assessment and study options. It also covers the rights of the disabled under Federal and State disability laws.

The contents include: (1) Disability Law and Institutes of TAFE; (2) Disability Discrimination including reasonable adjustments and justifiable hardship; (3) Studying in an Institute of TAFE including selection, enrolment, alternative assessment, flexible delivery, recognition of prior learning, access issues, attendance, and special courses; (4) Your Responsibilities; (5) Support Services, on campus, off campus, and financial; (6) Disability Resources for hearing, physical, visual, intellectual, hidden, and/or psychiatric disability; (7) Complaint Resolution; (8) Useful Contacts.
