The main focus areas include: key challenges, data-driven insights, training and education, workforce strategies, policy and program alignment, actionable insights, and stakeholder collaboration. These focus areas will guide our upcoming efforts and stakeholder consultation, ensuring a strategic approach to managing industry challenges and capitalising on growth opportunities.
Developed in collaboration with a broad range of stakeholders, this report marks a significant step forward in understanding the issues facing the Hospitality sector. The WFPR begins with a joint preface on the Tourism, Travel and Hospitality workforce. The workforce challenges section draws on industry intelligence, research, and data analysis to identify key priorities in the sector, including understanding current and emerging workforce needs, recognising the role of migration and regional challenges, hospitality as a career, and prioritising upskilling. The following sections step through the workforce insights and skill needs, training developments and workforce strategies and measures, and the WFPR concludes with the current and planned stakeholder engagement efforts.
