OECD thematic review of the first years of tertiary education: Australia seminar, Sydney, 20-21 April 1998

The Australian case study for the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) thematic review was conducted in mid-1995 and reported in 1996. This booklet reports on the seminar which followed the release of the report of the review. The seminar had three main themes: (i) students at the centre of the education paradigm - changing patterns of demand; (ii) the case for a conceptually coherent education sector; and (iii) universal participation - implications for policy makers, institutions and students.
