As a result of award restructuring within the metals industry a new course is required to enable the adoption of the National Engineering modules in the fabrication strand. This course is designed to provide training for people who intend to work as welders in light or heavy metal fabrication occupations. It meets the National Metal and Engineering competency standards for a person working at the C10/General Service Officer 5 level (ASF 3) in Specialisation Band A in Fabrication.

All students who have completed an Australian Capital Territory Year 10 Certificate or equivalent may apply for entry to the course. The Canberra Institute of Technology policy on recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) will apply. Show less
