The South African Council for Educators (SACE), the University of the Free State (UFS) and the Flemish Association for Development Cooperation and Technical Assistance (VVOB) signed a trilateral cooperation agreement to study the area of the [Further Education and Training] FET College sub-sector through the implementation of a support programme that aimed to improve the pedagogical and vocational teaching practice of FET College lecturers. This report describes the research and outcomes. The nature of the research was twofold: a quantitative survey to be completed by all staff members, focusing on qualifications and experience, and a more qualitative research about professional development approaches of the organisation, i.e. the college or campus. This report covers the results of both researches.
