The main themes of the 2009 forum were to: (1) gain an understanding of how higher education institutions and [quality assurance] QA agencies' quality procedures and practices take into account the diversity of institutional missions and profiles; and (2) explore how internal and external quality assurance processes may stimulate or hinder creativity and innovative practices in higher education. This publication gathers together a representative sample of the contributions to the forum.
