This research report was required to 'support the [Further Education Curriculum Review and Development] Unit in its tasks ... by surveying the dissemination of curriculum information in further education'. The Unit wished to investigate ways of enabling teachers and others working on curricula in further education to exchange ideas and materials more easily than currently possible. A first step was to conduct a brief survey of the present means by which further education teachers keep up to date with developments in their course areas, experiment and innovation in curriculum design, alternative teaching approaches, learning resources, and other sources of professional information.
