Abstract:

This report provides the latest ILO data on women's position in labour markets and how they have progressed in the world of work over the last two decades, examines the factors behind these trends and explores the policy drivers for transformative change. It shows that, despite some encouraging advances, major gender gaps at work remain. Throughout their working lives, women continue to face significant obstacles in gaining access to decent jobs.
