Abstract:

Following a significant decline in employment in the early months of the [Coronavirus Disease 2019] COVID-19 pandemic and a lagging recovery in 2021 compared with fathers, maternal employment reached pre-pandemic levels in late 2022. This report follows mothers' and fathers' employment trajectories from the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and measures employment recovery three years later, comparing employment levels between February 2020 and February 2023.
