On 21 March 2013 the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Education and Employment of the 43rd Parliament adopted an inquiry into the role of the Technical and Further Education (TAFE) system and its operation. The Committee ceased to exist when the 43rd Parliament was dissolved and the inquiry lapsed. The Standing Committee on Education and Employment for the 44th Parliament (the Committee) was established on 14 November 2013.
