Employability skills training: consultation paper

Youth Jobs PaTH is an Australian government initiative that aims to support young job seekers into jobs. It is designed to build upon existing government employment services, which include jobactive, Transition to Work and Disability Employment Services, and will provide: (1) Prepare: employability skills training to help young job seekers understand the behaviours expected by employers in the recruitment process and in the workplace; (2) Trial: voluntary internships of four to 12 weeks to give young job seekers a chance to show what they can do in a real workplace; and (3) Hire: a new Youth Bonus wage subsidy to support the employment of young people. This consultation paper seeks stakeholders' views about the first stage of the Youth Jobs PaTH - employability skills training.
