This paper seeks to explore the various discourses and 'connect the dots' between [technical and vocational education and training] TVET and sustainable development [SD]. It further seeks to suggest concrete ways and framework by which sustainable development can be effectively reflected in TVET curricular offerings, campus-wide policies and practices, extension activities and training provisions to the society at large. An attempt has been made to connect the dots in terms of mapping the role of TVET institutions in the fostering of sustainable development principles in the world of work through a critical mass of technical workforce trained under TVET systems. The paper likewise puts forward an ideal framework to reorient existing TVET institutions to greening TVET. While attempts have been made in the past to place the emphasis on the need to reorient TVET to sustainable development or suggest ways to integrate SD in TVET, efforts are limited in identifying an integrated approach that considers all key components in the practice, development and delivery of TVET education programs.
