The Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) is the national set of standards which assures nationally consistent, high-quality training and assessment services for the clients of Australia's vocational education and training (VET) system. The AQTF was initially established in 2001 for implementation in 2002. It was revised in 2005, 2007 and 2010. The components of the AQTF are: (1) AQTF essential conditions and standards for initial registration; (2) AQTF essential conditions and standards for continuing registration; (3) The quality indicators; (4) AQTF standards for state and territory registering bodies; and (5) AQTF excellence criteria. This document is the 2010 version. It contains the standards that must be met by applicants seeking to become a registered training organisation (RTO) before they can be registered to deliver and assess nationally recognised training and issue nationally recognised qualifications. It includes nine conditions of registration and three standards, focusing on the RTO’s preparedness to deliver quality training and assessment services.
