Industry Training Committees require comprehensive analyses at various levels if they are to make informed and sustainable recommendations about the training needs of their respective industries. Before defining training needs analysis in this paper, a comprehensive scheme of identification and analysis of human resource problems is briefly described, so that training needs analysis may be placed in an appropriate context. Besides training needs analyses, related types of analyses are briefly discussed, including industry analysis, labour market analysis, and occupational analysis.
