National review of TAFE teacher preparation and development: discussion paper

Abstract:

This discussion paper summarises stages 1A and 1B of the national review of TAFE teacher preparation and development (see TD/TNC 22.37 for more detailed report). The TAFE National Centre for Research and Development was commissioned to conduct the review, which was funded by Department of Employment, Education and Training (DEET) and state/territory TAFE agencies. Stage 1A identifies the skills and competencies required by TAFE teachers in the 1990s (training needs analysis) and Stage 1B identifies present skills and competencies (current skills analysis).
