The handbook contains general information about the National Staff Development Committee (NSDC) including their objectives, role, and functions. The NSDC staff development products are described and listed. They include training programs, schemes and resources. The products are categorised according to four areas; quality, literacy and numeracy, equity and management development. The products in the quality category are for improving the quality of training delivery. The products in the literacy and numeracy category have been developed for a broad range of adult literacy, basic education (ALBE) teaching and learning contexts. The projects and programs in the equity category focus on the skills and knowledge NVETS personnel need to address general equity issues and meet target group needs. The management development category includes information about the National Management Development Scheme, the 'Process improvement and quality planning for managers' program and technology for management. The appendix includes the 1995 strategic plan and directions, mission statement, strategic planning process details, goals, purpose statement. It also includes a brief description of the history of staff development.
